Aloha Oy!!! I - III

This is one of the best of the best and my personal number 2 favorite (you can wait to figure out my number 1). It's not in album 3, but I wanted to review it.

Let me ask you this, what would happen if you put the Barklays and the Rathbones together for a week???

BAD THINGS.... I know. Well this is series of 3 episodes is kind of a chronicle of bad things :).

It all starts when Jimmy Barclay, with one his best friends Laurence Hodges, wins a trip for 5 to Hawaii from the Rathbone's shop, The Electric Palace (you can all pass out from shock, but Bart didn't give the trip away another company let him)!!! The Barclay family is thrilled and they along with Laurence are off to Hawaii, but they've got a surprise waiting for them at the airport; not only was Bart Rathbone allowed to give away the trip, but he and his family get to go.

So there they are in 1st class: Donna sitting with Rodney, arguing about if Rodney could make her fall for him, George next to Bart, arguing about what they're going to do in Hawaii, Mary next to Bart's wife Dorris, arguing about whether or not the blanket and pillow are keep able souvenirs, Laurence next to Jimmy, pretending to crash land a 747 jet liner.

But that's nothing compared to their actual "vacation". First, Rodney (trying to prove he can make Donna fall for him) tries to surf even though he can't swim. He fails miserably and their tour guide, Don Iowa (pronounced Yo-Way), has to do CPR on Rodney. Then Bart decides to go along with his plan for the trip and rents a car for the adults to go site seeing on the Island. So after Rodney tries to walk through a pit of hot coals (for reason see above), the group splits, the parents off to see "the essential Hawaii," Jimmy, Laurence and Don Iowa off to see Pearl Harbor, and Donna and Rodney to hang out on the beach.

But then every one's days go terribly wrong... First Bart's rental car for Jack's Pretty Good Wheels breaks down and Bart gets a Pilate of a less then safe looking "Boat" to get them home. Meanwhile, at Pearl Harbor, Laurence sees his father from far away (his dad's in the navy and hasn't been home in 2 months). Laurence, Jimmy and Don Iowa are trying everything in their power to allow Laurence to see his Dad, but they keep being just a little to late. Still Meanwhile, Rodney has decided to yet again try to impress Donna, this time by para sailing. While Donna is getting him out of the harness, telling him how ridiculous this is, the driver of the boat takes off, with Donna in another boat close behind.

Believe it or not they all end up in the same place... and have to explain to each other how they got their. See, the less than safe boat the Barclay parents and the Rathbone parents were on... Broke down. And so the captain went for help; while he was gone the boat started to sink. And the four passengers were picked up by the U.S.S Ben Franklin and taken back to the army base.

Laurence, Jimmy and Don never found Laurence's Dad, but they did crash the Admiral's (Laurence's Dad's boss) party and got taked to the army base.

Donna and Rodney, got Rodney unhooked from the boat, but guess where he landed?.. in restricted waters next to the army base.

So there they all are at the army base, confused and Laurence devastated. Then a man who was on the U.S.S Ben Franklin with the adults walks in and asked if Dorris had taken his hat as a souvineer. Any guesses who the guy was...?..

Yep, Mr. Hodges, Laurence's Dad! And they all lived happily ever after, accept for Rodney who sprained his ankle para sailing :).

This was a great episode... still is! My favorite thing about it is the tour guide, Don, who's from the U.S. but wants to be from the Islands, so he tries to speak Hawian all the time and never gets it. For instance hears some dialoge from the script:

Army Sargent: Admiral Coridan and his staff went to a lunchen at the Yeunani Palace you can find you dad there.

Laurence: Oh thank's so much, bye!

Don Iowa: And as we say on the Islands 'whankiki poua oy'

Army Sargent: May the goose preserve the porch???

Don Iowa: (Blushing) Well we don't say it that often. (they leave)

Hey listen to this episode, it's awesome!!!!

VBS BLUES

Hi everyone I'm back!!!!!! This is one of those episodes not in my cassette collection, I just found it yesterday while prepping for a garage sale (If you live in Chico it's on Saturday the whatever next Saturday is.... Off of Garner Lane : ) ).

I listened to this episode last night and quite frankly it's hilarious. Here we are introduced to a room in Whit's End called the Little Theater, designed for the kids in Odyssey to be able to put on shows. This week the VBS Leader Ned (yes the same one from Camp Wut a Nut) along with lead actors Eugene Mugsford (Mugsy) and his gang are performing the story of Pool-Shack, Tool-Rack and Abillygoat. These three dudes are in the power of the King of Babble-on (he never shuts up :) ) all's going great till the King build a statue of gold and tells the people need to bow to it when the rock and roll plays. If they don't they'll get thrown into the furnace (ya know what they put trash in!!!). Guess what??? Pool-Shack, Tool-Rack and Abillygoat don't bow down and some dirty rats tell on them. Off they go into the furnace (WITHOUT A FIRE EXTIGHISHER!!! Sorry can't spell). But king babble-on notices that the dudes are playing cards and realizes there are now four men in the furnace. He calls them out and praises God for the miracle he has witnessed.

I case you haven't noticed that's not the way the story of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednigo goes in the Bible, and wasn't the way Ned planned it. But there it is in front of the whole church and city to see. And guess What (again)?? Everybody loved it.

Heroes

Everyone has heroes... Well at least everyone I know. I myself have had quite a few over the years, but not the TV star kind. More like the people in my class at school kind, now I've found idolizing anyone but God is a waste of time :).

Jimmy Barklay's got a hero, his is basketball all star Lighting Livingston. And guess what??? Lighting has opened a new sports store in Odyssey! But not everyone is happy about it :(. Frank Malone, a reporter for The Odyssey Times (The main newspaper of Odyssey), is looking for the story behind Lightning's "early" retirement; he wont stop till he gets it.

But Lightning doesn't let that phase him, he opens basketball camps for the kids of Odyssey and is a great role model for Jimmy. Lightning and Jimmy become close friends, but the question is still up in the air: why did Lightning retire so early? Are the rumors true, was it a drug problem? The search goes on unknown to Jimmy, until it boils over and the truth comes out... (DAR DA DA AAA).

Jimmy's done with sticking up for people "forever" or so he says. Lightning is convinced he has to pull his reputation out of the dump. He's just recently become a christian, you see. Thanks to a radio space Lightnings able to convince most of the town, but Jimmy wasn't listening. So when Jimmy gets home he's got a surprise waiting for him. It takes plenty of time, but Lightning finally breaks the ice. By the end it sounds like Melvin "Lightning" Livingston and Jimmy Barklay are ganna be friends for quite a while :),

What's the lesson??? NO one's perfect. At all. Period. :)

That and DON'T DO DRUGS!

Mike Makes Right

SO GUESS WHAT??? I started a second blog yesterday, check it out the link is number one on my NEW list of blogs on the left... Check out the others while your at it!

Well there's a bully at Mike's (voiced by David Griffen) school who likes to beat up kids just for fun. Mike doesn't like it at all, but regrets it when he stands up for someone and ends up in a fight he didn't volunteer for. The bully Billy Barton is so confident he must not have been thinking because in a STUNNING turn of events Mike comes out victorious by way of a lucky punch.

At first Mike thinks nothing of it, but by the end of the day he's had enough attention that it goes to Mike's head. Mike's the new school bully within a week. But there's something every bully should know.... There's always someone stronger! When Mike gets punched out by the new kid in school, there's a stunning reality check :). What's the lesson?

I'm no telling you! You tell me leave it in the comments.

Jimmy Barklay (David Griffen)- Youngest of the 2 children, immature, but he's getting there.

Rumor Has It

Jack and Lucy are back in another mixed-up twisted-up story.

What would you do if a new family moved in on your street, but no one knew them. And there were some weird things about them.

The Father is often spotted at 4:30 in the morning with a GIANT bag over his shoulder

The Mother never talks to anyone even if they talk to her, she just walks away

The Boy doesn't go to school and kids often see him staring at them out his bedroom window

That's what happens to Jack and Lucy now that the Kierban family has moved to Odyssey. At first both Jack and Lucy are sucked into the gossip and rumors about the family. Then the boy John starts going to school. Then Jack and Lucy go there seperate ways. Lucy takes Whit's advise and trys to befriend John; Jack decides to uncover the mystery.

Lucy's atempts go badly, but Jack's go worse. Jack decides to try and catch the father at 4:30 in the morning with the bag. So he starts spying and gets caught... Jack's friend on his walkie-talkie calls the police, OUCH! The truth is uncovered.

The Father is a carpet maker who takes his HUGE rugs to Conellsville (a close city) to a warehouse that opens at 6:00am

The Mother speaks little to NO english and instead of trying to communicate and fail she doesn't try

The boy is homeschooled but he watched Lucy and Jack walk to school every day and wanted to go so against his father's will went to school

I liked this episode alot but it was a little bit creapy.
