Aloha Oy!!! I - III

This is one of the best of the best and my personal number 2 favorite (you can wait to figure out my number 1). It's not in album 3, but I wanted to review it.

Let me ask you this, what would happen if you put the Barklays and the Rathbones together for a week???

BAD THINGS.... I know. Well this is series of 3 episodes is kind of a chronicle of bad things :).

It all starts when Jimmy Barclay, with one his best friends Laurence Hodges, wins a trip for 5 to Hawaii from the Rathbone's shop, The Electric Palace (you can all pass out from shock, but Bart didn't give the trip away another company let him)!!! The Barclay family is thrilled and they along with Laurence are off to Hawaii, but they've got a surprise waiting for them at the airport; not only was Bart Rathbone allowed to give away the trip, but he and his family get to go.

So there they are in 1st class: Donna sitting with Rodney, arguing about if Rodney could make her fall for him, George next to Bart, arguing about what they're going to do in Hawaii, Mary next to Bart's wife Dorris, arguing about whether or not the blanket and pillow are keep able souvenirs, Laurence next to Jimmy, pretending to crash land a 747 jet liner.

But that's nothing compared to their actual "vacation". First, Rodney (trying to prove he can make Donna fall for him) tries to surf even though he can't swim. He fails miserably and their tour guide, Don Iowa (pronounced Yo-Way), has to do CPR on Rodney. Then Bart decides to go along with his plan for the trip and rents a car for the adults to go site seeing on the Island. So after Rodney tries to walk through a pit of hot coals (for reason see above), the group splits, the parents off to see "the essential Hawaii," Jimmy, Laurence and Don Iowa off to see Pearl Harbor, and Donna and Rodney to hang out on the beach.

But then every one's days go terribly wrong... First Bart's rental car for Jack's Pretty Good Wheels breaks down and Bart gets a Pilate of a less then safe looking "Boat" to get them home. Meanwhile, at Pearl Harbor, Laurence sees his father from far away (his dad's in the navy and hasn't been home in 2 months). Laurence, Jimmy and Don Iowa are trying everything in their power to allow Laurence to see his Dad, but they keep being just a little to late. Still Meanwhile, Rodney has decided to yet again try to impress Donna, this time by para sailing. While Donna is getting him out of the harness, telling him how ridiculous this is, the driver of the boat takes off, with Donna in another boat close behind.

Believe it or not they all end up in the same place... and have to explain to each other how they got their. See, the less than safe boat the Barclay parents and the Rathbone parents were on... Broke down. And so the captain went for help; while he was gone the boat started to sink. And the four passengers were picked up by the U.S.S Ben Franklin and taken back to the army base.

Laurence, Jimmy and Don never found Laurence's Dad, but they did crash the Admiral's (Laurence's Dad's boss) party and got taked to the army base.

Donna and Rodney, got Rodney unhooked from the boat, but guess where he landed?.. in restricted waters next to the army base.

So there they all are at the army base, confused and Laurence devastated. Then a man who was on the U.S.S Ben Franklin with the adults walks in and asked if Dorris had taken his hat as a souvineer. Any guesses who the guy was...?..

Yep, Mr. Hodges, Laurence's Dad! And they all lived happily ever after, accept for Rodney who sprained his ankle para sailing :).

This was a great episode... still is! My favorite thing about it is the tour guide, Don, who's from the U.S. but wants to be from the Islands, so he tries to speak Hawian all the time and never gets it. For instance hears some dialoge from the script:

Army Sargent: Admiral Coridan and his staff went to a lunchen at the Yeunani Palace you can find you dad there.

Laurence: Oh thank's so much, bye!

Don Iowa: And as we say on the Islands 'whankiki poua oy'

Army Sargent: May the goose preserve the porch???

Don Iowa: (Blushing) Well we don't say it that often. (they leave)

Hey listen to this episode, it's awesome!!!!
